Perth Postels

The Perth Postels are back for our exciting 21st Birthday Party, our real "Coming of Age" for 2016. We have a chance to enjoy what will be a welcome back to the Cricket Section to celebrate this birthday special year. Our team has graced Chiang Mai with pride since 1996 being Cup Winners in 1999, as well as being finalists a number of these years. We look forward to contributing like always to the Chiang Mai Sixes both on and off the field in the Friendship of Cricket Spirit that we have always shown.

Perth Postels Players

  • Brett “Kanga” Bastow

Great to see Kanga back again after a short break from the Chiang Mai Sixes, Busy bringing up a family, he is looking forward to Captaining this team. Always handy with Bat, ball and in the field, he will enjoy guiding the New Postels Team this year.

  • Michael “Cat” Maher

Hugely proud to be here for this the 21st Birthday Tour, what a time it has been. To have Kanga and Minder back with us this year is a real treat and to also welcome Morrow and Humpty back, as well as VYRus, what a nice year that it will be.

  • Patrick “Minder” Anderson

Past winner of the “Player of Tournament” award, Minder, a huge lover of golf, can hit the ball a long way. A much loved supporter of this event, it is fantastic to see Pat back in Chiang Mai again. No doubt he will really enjoy the fun of Chiang Mai 2016.

  • Rob “Croz” Crosby

A larger than life character, he can hit the ball a very long way. From Melbourne, he joins the Perth Postels with pride and is very happy to be invited. A Tour Virgin we are very sure that he will have a ball and do the Postels proud both on and off the field.

  • Ron “Jonesy” Jones

Sadly one of the predictable nicknames which has been given to a Postel over the years, I am sure that this WILL CHANGE. A huge lover of the game of Cricket Sixes, Ron has played for a few teams in Chiang Mai up until now. Finally he has found a home at the Perth Postel and will be a huge asset this year behind the wicket.

  • Tim “Socrates” Caimakamis

Will brilliant complete what is a good squad for this year’s event. Loves cricket, enjoys this event and will certainly ensure it is known that he is about the place. Best for Fish and Chips, Socrates is threatening to show his other pure values.

  • Wayne “Morro” Morrison

After a brilliant year last year leading the Perth Postels with his excellent cricket, Wayne will enjoy playing with some past greats from the Perth Postels family. He played very well last year and hit the cricket ball very well indeed. He is also proud President of Nollamara CC.

Perth Postels Supporters

  • Cyrus “VYRus: Maybud

Unlikely to take the field this year, after recent years heroics for the Perth Postels, VYRus is taking a more senior leadership role within the Postels Group. It is always a pleasure to welcome our Swiss Lawyer to Chiang Mai.

  • Kevin “Crazy German” Buchanan

English heritage from his name, but a proud German who is extremely enthusiastic, what a fantastic member of the Perth Postels is Kevin. Thanks to his staff at the Crazy German Bar and our other Tour Sponsors as well, as Kevin will make this year a hugely exciting time for us all.

  • Stan “Humpty” Spink

A NSW Perth Postel who proudly lead the charge in 2015 and is with us in a big way as Tour Co-ordinator in 2016. Always keen, enthusiastic and encouraging, Humpty is a joy to have back with us this exciting 21st Birthday year.
