Darjeeling are one of the few teams that have been participating in the Chiang Mai Sixes since its inception. 2014 saw Darjeeling win the Bromley Shield with a hard fought encounter with the Clifton Hill Stray Cats, our most successful year to date.

Darjeeling CC Players

  • Adam Benjamin

Tour Virgin - Adam is new to the Club, so it will really be baptism by fire. An impressive all rounder, from what we have seen in his games since the beginning of the year, bats, bowls and keeps. We shall soon find out if all that stamina training will pay off.

  • Chris Dommett

One of our Overseas players returns, after relocating to Kuwait and is champing at the bit to be heavily involved in the social side, he has not had a beer in a while, although we suspect he has set up his own distillery at home. Will he get beyond the first evening?

  • Gary Turner

GT is back for his second year on the trot and will look to improve on his performance from 2016. We expect him to stay out later and drink more. Our sarcastic man from Oldham, is looking forward to serving up more buffet for the opposition batsmen.

  • George Appleton

Mr Darjeeling is back again, Life Member, Ex Chairman, Ex Club Captain, he has done it all for Club and Country. He will take our newcomers under his wing and give them his words of wisdom, to ensure they survive the rigours of a Chiang Mai week.

  • Greg Moses

Another returning Tourist, after last years disaster of missing out due to surgery, he is now fighting fit and back to his best both on and off the field. Expect to see Mr. Moses around town sampling all that Chiang Mai has to offer, especially the upmarket wine bars, as that is his new favourite tipple.

  • Pete Kesby

Our ex Emirates trolley dolly, now Bangkok based Australian is joining the tour till Wednesday. Pete was in the Bangkok Sixes winning Darjeeling side in October 2016 and is a fantastic all rounder, and will bring depth to the batting line up and will give little away in the bowling department

  • Stuart Matthewson

The "Badger" is back again for his 11th Tour, once again attempting to manage the motley crew. He has promised to take in some of the more cultural activities in Chiang Mai, rather than just propping up any bar that will have him till the early hours.

  • Umer Saleem

Our third Tour Virgin for 2017, Umer joined the Club in October 2016 and will bolster the bowling attack, and will ensure Badger remains firmly entrenched in the No 6 batting spot. We know Umer can drink, but have not tested his capacity, so the Chiang Mai week will see what he is really made of!!

Darjeeling CC Supporters

  • Dominic Bryan

Dominic is back in the supporters fold after a years rest. We did miss him last year with his positive, can do attitude, and he claims that he has lost lots of weight for his 2017 excursion, apparently 2 stones lighter. So he finally managed to pass those kidney stones!!!!

  • Ian Campbell

Ian is back again for a short sojourn, keeping Jez company at the end of the week. Another die hard Jack man he will be matching Mr. Coulbeck drink for drink , hoping to see Darjeeling closing in on some silverware.

  • Jeremy Coulbeck

Jez will join us at the business end of the week, arriving on the Thursday, full of confidence that he will be watching Darjeeling in a semi final and final. The Jack Daniels suppliers have already been put on emergency standby

  • Jim Jeffries

Jim is returning with a vow to tone down his clothing selection for 2017, not that we believe him. We will expect to see some luminous colours on him during the week, especially on the golf course.

  • John Croysdill (JC)

JC is another returning member of the DCC appreciation society. We will be taking bookings for any "After Dinner" speeches you may want to hire JC for. We will expect another sterling performance during the social scene, and vocal as ever in his appraisal of the weeks cricket.

  • Mark Jamieson

As current Chairman, Mark is taking time out of his busy schedule and jetting in the family for a few days to help us celebrate our 30th year. Mark has decided to keep his family away from the Darjeeling HQ of the Pornping Towers and plumped for more suitable accommodation.

  • Paul Commins

Our newest supporter joins us via GT, another Tour Virgin, Paul AKA Jumbo, a name picked up from his rugby playing days, apparently is a movie buff, whose favourite movie is Zulu. As a plumber he may be able to keep himself out of hot water, but will his piping work be able to handle the volume of drinks?

  • Paul Piper

Paul is back to head up the Darjeeling cheerleading section. We expect another solid year from our No 1 fan, permanently armed with a beer and smile.

  • Tony Morton

Tony is back for a second year, after having managed to survive his baptism of fire in year 1. Another sociable man on tour we will test him further in 2017
