"We're the Boys from the Bush and we're back in town"

The NT Bushrangers team, recruited from all corners of rural Northern Territory through community cricket carnivals, are a well behaved group of fellas, fully commited to the sport, and all in the shape of their lives...or something like that...but usually all comes undone when we hit the Zoom Bar.

Our motto - "Meeting new Friends and Catching up with Old Friends over a Game of Cricket”

This is the 'Bushies' 4th tour to the Chiang Mai sixes, twice the bridesmaids, in recent years so with the help of some new talent and some local recruits will be keen to take a sixes title for the first time.

Always great to be back in Chiang Mia, we look forward to catching up with new and old teams.

NT Bushrangers Players

  • 11. Garry 'Fisch and Chips' Fischer

Wicketkeeper / LH Batter/ Bowler, Tour Virgin. Fines Master.

Mr Fischer has been recruited from one of our feeder clubs, the Timber Creek Bushturkeys, where he has been the Wicketkeeper for nearly 20 years. A LH batsmen, quick between the wickets, even running 7 of the last ball to win a Dingo cup Semi final. His left hand sliders used to baffle batsman, while his keeping was faultless.....but that was a bloody long time ago. These days we'll be celebrating if he just bowls one on the pitch. In fact the only one running these days is the fine leg fielder gathering the byes. It will be interesting to see if Garry can keep up with the action both on and off the field, with a few seasoned campaigners leading him astray, but guarantee he will give it his all.

Gazza now resides in Berry Springs, NT and this is his first tour with the Bushies.

  • 19. Terry 'A Game' French

RH Batter and bowler, Team Treasurer.

Frenchie is certainly the oldest of our group but still is very young at heart. Always up for an adventure, first to the Zoom bar and usually last man standing, lost in the streets of Chiang Mai. Always brings his A game, and has decided to bring the white pants this year to have another roll of the arm or keep wickets badly.

From just over the NT/WA border in Kununurra, this will be his 4th tour with the Bushies.

  • 26. Mark 'One more' Schmidt

    RH Batter/ Bowler, Team Captain

This will be Schmidty,s 3rd tour as Captain of the NT Bushrangers. He will be trying to go one better this year, trying to lead his team to obtain the elusive plastic Sixes Elephant. Schmidty is a very good cricket player and leader of men, but his forte lies in the many seedy bars of Chiang Mai, as many fall by the wayside, you will hear his enthusiastic cry of....come on fellas...ONE MORE!!!

Schmidty lives in Darwin River NT and this is his 5th tour with the Bushies.

  • 99. Warren 'One Job' Addison

    RH Batter/Bowler, Camp Coordinator.

Wozza,s back for another tour with the Bushies. Last year he had just the one job, collect the water and keep the beer on ice. After a few days training, he finally mastered the task. So this year we have given him the title 'camp coordinator' This year he may even grace the field for a game or two after a brief 40 year break from playing cricket and advancing his resume to 'two job's' Loves the Chiang Mia nightlife, often seen busting a move at the Zoom bar after 1am with the shutters down, imitating some sort of funky crab dance. A great guy to have on the side, with many years travelling Asia I'm sure he will take the tour virgins under his wing and show them a thing or two.

Works at Bing Bong on the East coast of NT and this is his second tour with the Bushies.

  • Daniel 'Danielson' Rosas

    RH Batter/ Bowler. Tour virgin.

Dan hails from a great sporting family in Northern Territory, with his power hitting and tight spin bowling is a real boost to the Bushies. And following in his Uncle Marcus's footsteps, will be quite the performer off the field as well. This is his first trip overseas so Danielson will have a few Mr Miyagi's to teach him the ways of Chiang Mai.

Danielson lives in Katherine, NT and this is his first Tour with the Bushies.

NT Bushrangers Supporters

  • Marcus 'Joomby' Rosas

    Umpire, Team Bossman, Founder.

The face of the NT Bushrangers, this will be Joomby's second tour as an umpire. And he will no doubt bring his hair trigger finger with him again so Bushies beware. Marcus can usually be found in the background of the Zoom bar, keeping a close eye on the action, getting full enjoyment in watching his team mates landing themselves into mischief, but always there to offer advise to the tour virgins.

Marcus lives in Katherine, NT and this is his 7th tour with the Bushies.
