The SBCC is the cricketing arm of Castor Repletis Athletic Pursuits, a global, multi-disciplinary sporting and social club with players and supporters drawn from many walks of life and corners of the globe.
The post-covid return to the Sixes in 2023 was a surreal experience, encapsulated by us finding ourselves in the vertigo-inducing giddy heights of the Bowl Final. We confidently anticipate a return to business as usual this year and look forward to renewing acquaintances and locking horns with friends old and new down at the business end of the tournament.

Andy “Nutter” Nutkins
4th Tour. BOTY 2019. CM Sixes Player of the Day, Friday 8th April 2016. The inventor of the “Nut-Trick”. On that memorable day in 2016, Nutter took the Sixes by storm with his now-legendary over of 3 wickets for 4 runs. The fact that the opposition was the SBCC “B” team really is neither here nor there.

Bart “Paul” Simpson
12th Tour. President 2018-17, BOTY 2023. Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to make the world’s first bionic man. Bart Simpson will be that man. Better than he was before. Better. Stronger. Faster. [Editor’s note: this project is a work-in-progress – one and a half knees done so far…]

Chas “Beggers” Begley
15th Tour. President 2023-24. The inspiration behind the groundbreaking Chazball approach that has taken the cricketing world by storm. Deserved winner of the 2023 Bowler of the Year Award. Another year, another foiled attempt to retire to the Committee Room.

Chris “Coombesy” Coombes
6th Tour. BOTY 2015. The SBCC’s very own cricket-whisperer. Coombesy brings many things to the Beavers, notably his batting prowess and calmness in the face of near-permanent adversity. What he doesn’t bring (so far) is his son Max (at least JB has managed that…).

James “JB” Begley
Debut Tour. After many false starts, we will finally get the Begley bothers onto the Gymkhana pitch. A dead-ringer for the fondly-remembered and much-missed David Begley. JB has made numerous appearances for the SBCC in the UK but has generally managed to time his visits to CM to avoid the Sixes. We have finally got our man.

Mark “Sluggs” Robinson
7th Tour. President 2018-19. BOTY 2018. Few have contributed as much to the Beaver cause as Marky-Mark Mark II as evidenced by the refurbished bar and the magnificent David Begley Plate awarded to the Beaver of the Year, and yet he is mostly remembered for dyeing his pool green for the 2017 Pool Party and appointing Vladimir Putin as President for a reign of unrelenting tyranny.

Max “Max” Begley
Debut Tour. Another delayed first appearance due to the intervention of the cursed covid. Milestone passing of the baton in the Begley cricketing dynasty. Max was all set to make his debut as a super-fit teenager back in 2020. It remain to be seen what three years at university have done to those fitness levels….

Nigel “Gurners” Gurney
15th Tour. President 2014-15. BOTY 2016. Few have contributed as much to the Beaver opponents’ cause as Nige, whether it be coming in off his long run or indeed his short run. A selection of age-related injuries should confine him to the tent and allow the tournament schedule to run to time. As an aside, Nige shares an orthopaedic surgeon with Jonny Bairstow – the similarities end there.
