Drifters Players

  • 1. Jon Pike

JP is making his 20th Chiang Mai sixes, and this year has spent a some of his time in Asia. He has once again been searching around the continent, in the hope of securing the Drifters a credible player. At time of writing, this was still aspiration. Hopefully through his contacts in BKK, it may produce the missing piece of the jigsaw.

  • 2. Simon Philbrook

The chairman of Pattaya CC is back for another tournament with the Drifters, and has competed in 20+ Chiang Mai sixes. This year Simon will be donning the gloves, following a prior engagement for the current incumbent Jim. He has been known to have a thirst for G&T.

  • 3. Bobby Young

Bobby is making his 6th Chiang Mai sixes for the Drifters. Following a recent trip to Chiang Mai for the Lanna sixes, he hopes to have the opposition in a spin once more with his lob bombs and dulcet Geordie tones. This master of words will be looking to extend the wordsmith’s Lexicon.

  • 4. Rob Hall

Lord Hall is making his 16th Chiang Mai sixes. He has been through a dry spell in January, in order to reshape himself and has regularly been seen in bowling action at 4 Elms cricket nets. Once again, the wheels came off with his birthday celebrations, but he has managed to get back on the wagon.

  • 5. Paul Lack

Lacky is making his 17th Chiang Mai sixes, and has represented Ashwell Crusaders, Romany Martlets and Surrey Vagrants. Appearances in the bowl, plate and cup finals have kept his enthusiasm going. He thoroughly enjoys the spirit and friendships developed over 18 years. He has also toured all the Test playing countries and has recently returned from a short cricket tour to Guyana.

  • 6. Tim Peters

Tim is making his 10th annual pilgrimage to Chiang Mai, having made a big money deadline day transfer from the Surrey Vagrants for 50 BAHT to the Drifters. At 25 and a half years of age, he is reaching the peak of his powers on and off the pitch.

Drifters Supporters

  • 1. Westminster International

Westminster International are a fast-growing provider of English language teaching, digital marketing qualifications, professional management courses and advice for those wishing to study in the UK. WI has the Head Office at the Asok interchange in Bangkok, and an office in Chiang Mai.

  • Alan Jenner

Rumours were rife that Tubby was once more going to turn out for the Drifters, but this was put to bed during 4 Elms cricket nets. After a burst blood vessel in his eye (sustained playing pool) and numerous injections in the eye, Tubby will just be supporting the team while relaxing in the Drifters tent with a beer or two.
