Sons of Pitches Players

  • CHEF

Keith “Chef” Roddom Tour 4 for the SOP's – We are sure everyone in Chiang Mai will hear he has returned with his larger than life voice. Not the cricketer of yesteryear as he is slowing up a little but still loves to tour. Chefs has been preparing for this year with a strict diet so he can slim down and increase his pace whilst belting the Malaka's out of the park. We are positive that he will have a major influence on some of the teams late nights and bad drinking habits.

  • FROG

Steve “FROG” Forrest Tour 4 – Numerous trips outside of cricket also. Frog’s love of beer, good friend’s, cricket, makes him the perfect supporter for our group. The amount of bowling the man got through last year was amazing but it has taken a toll on the man. But the man that he is has decided he would not let the team down and will play if required but he may need assistance to get on and off the field.

  • KENNY

Jason "KENNY" Watson. The high speed left arm bowler from Paterson had last year off to work in his fitness. He is now lighter and fitter than he has been in many years so cricketers be warned. The rest of Chiang Mai possibly should be warned also. Kenny's late nights were legendary a couple of years ago image what they might be like now he is slimmer and fitter than ever.

  • NO SHOW

Supposedly Adam "NO SHOW" Leeming will be joining us as the second tour virgin. At this point we are unsure if this is a real human being or just the imaginary friend "Woody" has so desperately wanted for years. The only thing we know is that "Woody" has told us he will enjoy the week. If he is not Woody's imaginary friend we hope he knows how to drink because his first session might be and early morning drink with Chef.

  • NUDGE

Jack "Nudge" Cowled Tour Virgin. Nudge is quite the cricketer apparently. The man signs up to play cricket every year and is the only person that spends less time on the park than SPEED. Boasts that he has hit Josh Hazlewood for a six but cant produce the evidence. Loves a punt so if the Bangkok horse races are on the First day on the tournament he may not make it to Chiang Mai until Monday. As one of the two virgins on tour he is unsure how to prepare for the big days and nights.

  • PORK CHOP

Luke "Pork Chop" Dunford is returning once again after a year of the circuit Has played no cricket since Chiang Mai 2 years ago but still believes he has the right stuff to bring home the silverware. Is looking forward to a few JD's an as many bars as possible again this year. We are sure the pool table at the Zoom Bar will get another introduction to the Pork Chop

  • SMASH

David “Smash” Barrett -Tour Unknown (to many to count) Smash is the Quiet one in the group. He has now retired and has been enjoying the R&R. We are sure Smash received his nickname not for the way he hits a ball but the way the balls he delivers are being hit. Be mindful of his leg glances when batting though as he has the capacity to pile on the runs this way. Once again he is touring for all the right reasons. Socializing Drinking, and some cricket. He has been waiting for another drinking session with the beavers since the last boat race.

  • SPEED

James "Speed" Reynolds Tour no. 12 – The part time TUK TUK driver has once again been given permission to leave the family home to improve on his batting and bowling skills. He will once again be seen on the dog and bone for far to long each day talking to his family back home as usual. Loves a beer while watching or playing cricket so he's in the right place for a good time. Has only played 2 games at home this year and decided he has spent to long at the crease ( total of approximately 5 Minutes). Has promised once again to ensure the bar at the ground is well supported.

  • WOKKA

Warren "Wokka" Pugh. Tour No 2 Warren enjoyed himself so much with the SOP's last year he signed up for this year before leaving Chiang Mai. The big lovable larrikin will have many stories to share over the week and will love being the social butterfly once again. The man does a great rendition of the devil went down to Georgia. He had a magnificent return to the tournament last year and will again be a force to be reckoned with both on and off the field. Wokka's wife Fon will attend the cricket with him so this may interrupt the bar sessions (but highly unlikely).

  • WOMBAT

Jason "Wombat" Hicks Official Tour No 7 – Unofficially there's been a few quick scoping trips in between times. The man's on a mission to see how many calls can be made between home and Thailand in a month. Has played very little cricket since last year but that wont affect his drinking. He has been visiting Thailand again in between sixes even tried to use the excuse that his parents asked him to show them around as the reason to go. Signed up for Thai language lessons whilst at home but we are sure he will get plenty of lessons when he returns to the cricket. We believe that . . Currently counting the days and minutes to departure.

  • WOODY, WOOD HE, WOODSEY,

Mark "Woody" Wood. Tour 12. Woody has had many name variations over the years (Woodey, Woody, Woodsey, Wood he) nobody is actually sure how many variations have occurred. The man who's heart makes up for his stature Woody has had an exceptional year at home playing almost every game and failing almost every time to reach double figures with the bat. The speedy little keeper is back again to cover anything behind point and square leg.

Sons of Pitches Supporters

  • LEK

Lek the better have of the frog family will be once again be the supporter of frog after many late nights. She has prove to be worth her weight in gold steering him in the right direction to get back to the motel many nights over. If it wasn't for this woman I am sure our frog would have been lost forever in Thailand.

  • SJ

Sarah-Jane "SJ" Dunford. is also touring for the first time. Has the hard task of trying to babysit the husband. SJ is also a very safety conscious woman so please don't laugh if Pork Chop is well protected when going in to bat. We are sure she will enjoy the cricket shopping and nightlife whilst touring with us.
