Red Lion Wombats

The Wombats were founded by 'The Earl of Wombatshire' and we have entered every Chang Mai Sixes Tournament since their beginning in 1988. The Wombats come from the Wombat Forrest in the Kingdom of Bullengarook, which is ruled over by our Patron 'King Alan of Bullengarook'

The Earl recalls being told in 1987 by Adrian Gundlach and Myles De Vries that the tournament in Chang Mai would commence the following year, and that he was expected to enter teams. Thus, the Wombats Cricket Club was born with great fanfare in the Crown Royal Pub (Bangkok) and in the rural Victorian community of Bullengarook.
