Clifton Hill Stray Cats

A team that has evolved from the "World Famous" Clifton Hill Cricket Club based in metro Melbourne. This year will see the "World Famous" Stray Cats take to the field for their 5th consecutive CM Sixes event.

Originally a team that was built out of blokes that could no longer score runs higher than their age, the Stray Cats are now a youthful team, however due to the CM nightlife, they too struggle to score runs more than their age.

A talented bunch of cricketers that have always looked likely but consistently never fail to disappoint their die hard supporters. You never know, maybe 2015 might see a early night that could be the difference.

Clifton Hill Stray Cats Players

  • Ben "Rocca" Slaviero

A hard, fast, beer drinking diesel mechanic that takes no prisoners is not how I would describe "Rocca". Although he does bowl a quick ball, can smash a huge 6 and does alright on the dance floor, Rocca is more in his element swiping left and right on Tinder.

  • Eamonn "Pup" Scott

Auditioned for "I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here" and was miffed that he was rejected. The producers comments of 'mate, who are you?' simply cemented Eamonns beliefs that the show would fail. After leaving the audition Eamonn returned to confront the producers with one of his wittier comebacks, "yeah?, well who are you!"

  • George "Florist" Cook

Been known to sing a tune or two to most peoples displeasure. A Englishmen, George has spent enough time in Australia to think he has nailed the Aussie accent. The reality is that he "sucks" and sounds like Leo Sayer when he thrashes out " Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again".

  • Jeff "Jeffris" Lyon

A Kiwi that is returning for his 3rd tournament, Jeffris doesn't like the nightlife in CM, he loves it. With war stories of previous nights encounters one would imagine that he has had a crack at all life that is not flora in northern Thailand. He assures all that this is not correct but thanks Social Media for the collaborating evidence.

  • Mark "McSkipperBeer" Skipper

A lad that came to the CHCC with a huge reputation for a fondness of an ale, he didn't disappoint. A CM virgin, McSkipperBeer should be in his natural habitat in Chiang Mai. A great bat as well, his average is simply a testament to a bad run of luck he had the entire season. Hopefully he switches it on in CM and plays some decent cricket too!

  • Mark "Simmo" Simmonds

Although he came to CM last year, this will be his first year as a player. He is a legend with multiple Facebook pages set up in his honour. He has been attributed with sayings that have rivaled Buddha, Nelson Mandela and John Holmes.

  • Owen "Gordon" Lancaster

A CM Virgin!!!! Another Englishmen that has trouble with the language. After 3 months at the club everyone thought his name was Gordon and called him so. Rather than try and lose a little bit of the Geordie, he simply resigned to the fact that his name is now "Gordo" and promptly answers to it!
