Yorkshire Puddings Players

  • Amjid Hussain

Opening batsman who cites true Yorkshire grit and determination as his reason for scoring at one run an over whilst the rest of us just call it plain selfishness. Amjid has stated that when his eyesight is failing too much for him to continue as a batsman, he would like to become an umpire.

  • Arsalan Ijaz

As a hard hitting opening batsman as well as the opening bowler, Arsalan is the fulcrum of the team. He will continue to play an important part on the field as a high class all-rounder as well as offering tall tales of his deeds off the field.

  • Awais Ejaz

Awais developed into a fine cricketer after a slow start to his career. He used to be more fond of half time teas than team talks and once ran after a bowler demanding his fair share after hearing that he was chucking pies! He is also the youngest member of the puddings’ touring party and will be expected to do more than his fair share of fielding duty.

  • Bilal Ejaz

Bilal is a hard hitting batsman and a fast bowler whose attention span means that he will be ideally suited to 5 over cricket. He is a Chiang Mai virgin who foolishly presumes that cricket is the biggest attraction on offer and is therefore clearly in need of some serious re-education.

  • Imran Patel

Imran is a top order batsman and medium pacer. Whilst he will be expected to score heavily with the bat, when it comes to his bowling he has an interesting philosophy. He leaves others to bowl for LBW’s and caught behinds, whilst he concentrates on bowling for run-outs. He was once told that a local team wanted him to play for them very badly. He duly obliged by playing very badly indeed.

  • Mahboob Hussain

By playing for the puddings, Mahboob will once again be doing his best for the opposition. Included in the tour party for comedy value alone, he continues to cling to the mistaken belief that his cricketing abilities are valued by the team. In addition to assisting opposition batsmen with his friendly off-breaks, Mahboob also regularly supports the opposition cause with misfields, overthrows and dropped catches.
