Ios Malakas had won the Spoon in 2018 and 2019 and so were looking for a hat-trick of honours in 2023 but the fact that only four teams played in the Spoon meant that three successive defeats to start their campaign was not enough to get them into the fifth tier and they made it into the Plate. Another four defeats followed but the Malakas will surely qualify for the Spoon again in 2024.
