Gloucestershire Gipsies Players

  • Ben Hyde

A proud Kiwi born and raised in Northland. I am the captain of our province and am a batting all-rounder. I have played for 3 clubs in the UK in Yorkshire and Suffolk to which I had great success on and off the park. I grew up idolising the likes of Sir Ian Botham and I think you will be able to see a lot of similarities in my game play. When I am not playing cricket my love for music really blossoms. I can play 4 instruments and can sing to near expert level. Always more than happy to show off my talents. [Ed. – Ben, you sound like a true Renaissance Man, a warm welcome to the Sixes!]

  • Henry Cooper

Top order batter and offspin bowler. Have played for the Gipsies for the past four seasons including the Chiang Mai Sixes in 2016 where we made the semi-finals. I am from New Zealand but have also played in the UK for 3 various clubs.

  • James Cunningham

James is a right arm off spinner and a powerful middle order batsman. He has been a product of Radley College’s cricket programme and captained the 1st XI in 2016. He has represented Oxfordshire at age group levels as well as balancing other playing commitments. Since leaving school he has been playing for Weybridge Cricket Club 1st XI and was part of the side that won the Surrey Premier League in 2018. He has also played in the Radley Rangers cricketer cup side that got to the second round of the cup in 2018. He has made the most of his gap year by playing for a variety of cricket sides including the Gloucestershire Gypsies, the Guards and the Old Georgians.

  • Kyran Dill

I have just enjoyed a great season in Yorkshire playing for Broad Oak in the Drakes Huddersfield league. I play for Northland in the far north of New Zealand. I am an opening bowler who bats in the middle order. Love to shape the ball both ways and give it a good lick with the bat. A farmer by trade I love a day out in the field with my friends so I am looking forward to the Chiang Mai heat.

  • Nick Kelly

I play for Northern Districts back in New Zealand as a top order batsmen who also bowls left arm finger spin. I have played a couple of seasons in the UK. I have enjoyed great success in white ball cricket in New Zealand over the last couple of years as we won the T20 domestic comp last year and finished runner up this year. A feisty red head who is always up for the battle.

  • Tom Smith

Keen cricketer very excited to be representing the Gloucestershire Gypsies and experiencing my first Chiang Mai Sixes. Played for Gloucestershire age groups and Academy, played for the 2nd team for three years. Spent three years playing for MCC young cricketers based at Lord's alongside a season with Glamorgan. Currently spending six months playing in Melbourne for Bonbeach Cricket Club. Looking forward to seeing everyone soon.
