Almar Players

  • 1. Simon Foxcroft

While being known to occasionally toot his own trumpet, Foxy has still been unanimously voted as Captain of Almar again this year. Appearing in the form of our Wicket keeper/Batsman combo, mostly as his mobility on the boundary was a concern.
The official legal beagle of the team, his skills on the field have fallen into question over the last 20 years and he is eager again to try prove that he has enough bite to match his bark.

  • 2. Gary Muller

Ready to return to Chiang Mai, Gary is our last batting hope since the unfortunate exclusion of the great MC from our Squad. While he his known for his prowess at resurrecting inanimate objects with style and precision, even he could not keep our opening pair intact, which has left him with the dire role of guarding the tail from ball 1 in the tournament.

  • 3. Barrett Bowley

Barret is back for his 2nd Sixes, the Ginger Warrior as he is affectionately donned will hope to transfer his prowess at Vodka slammers into his batting, but if all else fails you can find him dancing with someone’s wife.

  • 4. MC Laubscher

It is with a sad heart and plenty of fortune for the opposition bowlers that MC will no longer be joining the Almar squad for this years tournament. Due to a serious knee injury, poorly timed before getting to the tournament, he has been instructed by the medical fraternity that both flying and moering the ball stukkend are no no's for the next few months. He will be sorely missed by all and we wish him a speedy recovery.

  • 6. Dax Bailey

Dax returns to Chiang Mai again this year for his annual foreign portion of his birthday celebration. Known as a keen quaffer of fine wines and rabid strummer of any guitar he can get his hands on. Dax will be keen to also cement his place as Almars most capped pro-fielder inclusion. Although nearly damaging this reputation 3 years ago with 2 wickets off his last 2 balls in the tournament, it was quickly re-secured by his "Hat-trick Ball" aka first delivery in the following tournament missing the pitch entirely and instead heading for the offside square boundary without the aid of the batting team.

  • Neil Strybis

Neil returns to Chiang Mai after a lengthy sabbatical with the dual responsibility of trying to perform as both player and "damagement"... While his expertise normally fall in the beer drinking faculty, there have been whispers he could be the triple threat all rounder Almar needs to secure a valid fight for the spoon this year.
