Silly Sloggers Players

• Bradley James

  Brad is the big hitting leader of the Silly Sloggers. Having formed the new team in 2024, Brad is the behind the scenes organiser the squad, ensuring the team is re-entered every year. Brad is a left handed weapon with the bat who hits the ball as hard as he can all the time, there is no in between. On top of his batting, Brad swings the ball both ways and always finds a stump to cartwheel.

  

• Darren Farnes

  Darren 'Farnesy" Farnes is a left armed pace bowler who steams in and angles the ball across the body. Darren has no fear with the bat, swinging at absolutely every delivery that comes his way. When bowling, batters are never sure which way the ball is going to go, and quite frankly, neither does his teammates. He is a mystery that keeps on giving. Farnesy is our regular visitor to Chiang Mai and our Australian version of Chong from Cheech and Chong.

  

• Harry Smith

  Known at home as the International Cricket Sensation, Harry is the silent killer of the team. He hides in the outfield until his turn with the ball, then cleans up the offensive. Harry took home the Player of the Finals in 2025 having taken 3 for 2 off his over in the Grand Final and will be aiming to continue this onslaught during 2026.

  

• Luke Phillips

  Luke scores and scores big. With a wild swing, he aims for the ropes. He hit the Decathlon sign in 2024, scoring the big 10 runs, and continued his scoring tirade through 2025. In 2026, he aims to keep his high scores coming. With the ball, he's good for a wicket in his over ... maybe, bowling right arm with little spin. He loves the outfield and will slide at anything to stop runs be scored.

  

• Oliver Cooling

  Oliver is the newest addition to the Silly Sloggers Squad. Known in his glory days for his express heat, Oliver is finding his passion for the sport again and is doing that with a trip to Thailand. His right arm attack is lethal and will surely take some good wickets. Oliver is yet to experience Thailand, but is up for the challenges of the heat, the big swings, and the quick paced games. He is in for a real treat.

  

• Samuel Phillips

  Sam hit the winning runs in the Grand Final of the Silly Sloggers 2024 season. He is methodical with how he bats, always looking to score in the gaps. When he bowls, he aims at the stumps and constricts the runs. With his pace, batters find it hard to get him away.

  

• Shine Thomas

  Shine was the Silly Sloggers 2025 saviour. When it was looking like our team was going to be short of players, Shine answered our SOS. A Thailand local, Shine not only brings his cricketing skills, but also directions to all the hotspots in the town. Shine catches all that comes his way when he keeps behind the stumps, and will keep an end with the bat to help the others score the runs.
