Applecross CC

ACC is a proud club which was formed in 1975. We are based in Perth WA and play our cricket in the WASTCA competition. We are a blend of experienced and more experienced cricketers and non-cricketers (Rene) alike. The team is looking forward to enjoying a great week of cricket & experiencing everything Chiang Mai has to offer.

Applecross CC Players

  • Al "Cheese" Field

After several seasons in the stands, Alan this year makes a welcome return to the field with the red caps. After all these years still considers himself the calm voice of reason on tour, that’s why he is so well liked – always with the funny stuff ! If you don’t like our uniform, go have a chat to him, loves a bit of feedback does our Cheesie.

  • Damian "Nuttsy" O'Hara

Has this year, after decades of top flight battle with the Taverners, stepped down to the gentleman’s leagues for a more relaxed tour. Not too sure about that – there’s always something going on ( wrong ?) when this guy’s around. A frighteningly passionate enthusiast of all things cricket ( and CM ) I think old father time may have to wait a while for Nuttsy to slow down.

  • Dave "Rene" Cooney

Seven years Washington / Walts’s Mate / Coonac / Rene / Cheesie has been travelling with us and this tour finally gets a guernsey and will be stepping the rope for his maiden series. Never quite sure which Dave is going to front up on any given day, thus the seemingly endless moniker list. Not expected to feature heavily on the highlights reel.

  • John "Itchy" O'Brien

Everyone's favourite guy Itchy is a possible last minute replacement for the ACC side this year. Itchy is always on the go, so much so that it looks like he has sat on a nest of "Black Ants" he is hoping to avoid them this year....

  • John "Johnny" Isaac

A fine example of the modern all rounder and keen student of the game, is easily recognisable by his at all times expertly laundered whites. As usual we expect a few “ top hat” performances from this fellow , hopefully some decent cricket too. As another welcome first time tourer to Changers we extend the usual apologies for all the…., nah , it’s much more fun if they don’t know…….

  • Mark "Chompers" Hullet

Chompers is the friendliest & nicest guy you will ever meet. He also has the amazing ability to do an all nighter and still look happy the next day. Loves the odd "white knuckle" ride on the tuk-tuk almost as much as a spontaneous wedding... Keep on smiling buddy...

  • Ryan "Carmo" Carmody

The consummate team man, always contributes both on the pitch and in the sheds. A true cricket tragic, recent years have seen a degree of comfort added to Carmo’s training regime. As far as cricketing ability is concerned, will one day make an excellent organ donor. Hence, is expected to feature heavily on the “highlights” reel

  • Sam "S Mac" McNamarra

With his lifelong passion for women’s tennis, we’re all a little surprised to see this fellow on a cricket tour. A keen student of the maudlin and oftentimes berserk vocal renderings of the modern lady player, has fashioned his appeal to the umpire on the much maligned howl of the fabulous Pam Shriver. A welcome first time tourer to Changers, has been talked up ad nauseum by Al Field, so clearly some issues are to be expected.

  • Tristram "Rowdy" Fletcher

You may remember seeing Rowdy dominate on the dance floor at any number of Chiang Mai night spots over the last 5 years or so. Unfortunately though for his adoring fans this will no longer be the case. Rowdy damaged his foot in an epic dance floor battle and has now retired from the past time altogether.
