The funeral service for Mike McCune, deeply involved in the Chiang Mai Sixes for more than 15 years, was held at Wat Pra Paeng, a peaceful temple on the river not far from Gymkhana Club, on Tuesday 8th March after Mike had died on the previous Saturday. Three evenings of prayer were followed by the funeral at the same temple where Mike had been ordained as a monk in 1995. The service was attended by many of his friends from the Sixes and from his other interests, as well as by his brother David who had flown in from the United States.

Mike's cremation was carried out following the service and his friends then gathered again at River Market, where some of Mike's favourite dishes were provided so that we could all remember his life in a fashion that he would have greatly enjoyed. Thank you Mike for the all assistance you gave to the Chiang Mai Sixes over so many years. You will be greatly missed by everybody involved at the 2016 Sixes and in the years to come.

Mike was a long-standing and hard-working member of the committee who built and maintained the original Sixes website and also produced the magazine each year. He worked as Sixes IT director and introduced the live feed which broadcasted coverage of the Sixes around the world and more recently Mike also acted as Sixes Treasurer.

Mike had been a popular figure in the Match Box during Sixes Week for many years and he recorded the results from Sixes tournaments on the website going back to 2002. He will be greatly missed at the 2016 tournament but will be long remembered. Thank you Mike for the all assistance you gave to the Chiang Mai Sixes over so many years.
