Prem Panthers impress in the Traidhos Sawasdee Tournament

The countdown to the 2016 San Miguel Chiang Mai International Sixes is continuing. The 17th Sixes Sawasdee Cup is less than a month away as it will be held at Prem School on 5th March. Children from local schools where cricket is being provided by Chiang Mai Schools Cricket Alliance (CMSCA) enjoyed a warm-up competition laid on by Prem last Sunday and seven teams had a fantastic day. Prem Panthers won the Traidhos President's Trophy for older children as their senior team showed off some excellent skills, but Sahakorn II School won the Traidhos President's Cup for beginners.

The CMSCA coaching program was set up in 2000 with support from the Chiang Mai Sixes and Sahakorn have been taking part in the Sixes Sawasdee Cup since the early days. Thanks go to Linda Rolph and David Buck for hosting a wonderful day's cricket at Prem and of course to Martin and Puy Papworth who organized all the visiting teams. Chiang Mai Lanna CC are now supporting junior cricket as part of a cricket in the community project and Lanna International School will join five other teams in the Sixes Sawasdee Cup on 5th March. It will be another wonderful occasion.

Prem Panthers defeated Huai Keaw, Sahakorn and Mae On in the Traidhos President Trophy, while Sahakorn outplayed the Premettes and Huai Keaw in the Traidhos President's Cup but all the children enjoyed a fantastic day at the wonderful facilities provide by Prem International School. Kids from Thai government schools mixed happily with those from Prem and each team couldn't wait to play more cricket.
