Dilettante n. Lover of the fine arts; amateur; one who toys with subject or studies it without seriousness.
Darwin Dilettantes are the touring arm of the famous Darwin Cricket Club, from the capital city of the Northern Territory, Australia. Darwin has been touring for many years all over the world and this will be the 30th year that Darwin has played in the Chiang Mai Sixes. We welcome players from all over the globe to our ranks each year.

Greg "Jai Dum" Bicknell
Dilettante Player # 1
Debut: 1991
Tours: 28
A relic from many tours past, our only Dilettante who played way back in 1991. A tad slower between the wickets, can be found always fielding in the shade.
Recently entered semi-retirement in Darwin to undertake a rigorous pre-tournament preparation schedule, not expected to help him in the fitness stake.

Joel "Rock Licker" Logan
Dilettante Player # 87, Debut: 2020, Tours: 1
A welcome addition of both youth and cricketing ability to the Dilettantes. A couple of games with the Australian Under 19's suggest he can play a bit.
-
Roger "Heavy Hammer" Weckert
Dilettante Player # 40, Debut: 2000, Tours: 22
Another rusted on Dilettante like Bickers, Roger is a familiar face at the Sixes. A "free settler" from South Aussie originally, has almost got rid of the Croweater tag since moving to Darwin.
-
Russell "Baryshnikov King" Hunter
Debut: 2011, Player #81, Tours 6
It almost seems that Rusty has done 81 tours, such are the impact of his pre and post match shooters. Will have a much easier year in 2020, without childminding services required for Nappies & Loso.
-
Sam "Serious" Nethery
No stranger to the Gymkhana wicket due to time spent with the Pattaya Cricket Club, this is Sam’s third trip to the Sixes with two different teams - apparently “once a Drifter not always a Drifter”?
A sharp but at times erratic left-arm slinger sprouting the pre-requisite facial hair, and just as likely to take a hat-trick as he is to lead the tournament in wides bowled, the question is which Mitch will turn up?
-
Tarak "T-Rex" Patel
Dilettante Player # 86, Debut: 2020, Tours: 1
Our first Canadian Dilettante, rumoured to be an ex Bollywood star. Cricketing career about to commence in Chiang Mai, will bring the X-factor!!
-
Troy "HaSip HaSip" Harvey
Debut: 2005, Player #55, Dilettante tours 6
Harvs is another well known veteran of the Sixes, having played with myriad teams over the past 15 years. Always welcome in the Dilettante tent, another vying for the coveted spot behind the stumps.
-
Allan "Acka" Spring
Dilettante Life Member, unable to coerce him out of Pattaya to play this year. Sneaking into town mid week to escape playing duties.
-
Chris "Will-o'-the-wisp" Heron
Our inestimable Team Manager/Shirt sponsor
Dilettante Player # 27, debut: 1991, Tours: 25
Opposition bats can count themselves lucky that Wally is recovering from a shoulder operation and won't be able to unleash his thunderbolts (again) this year. Will be in and out of Chiang Mai like the Scarlet Pimpernel.
-
Glen "Pouch" Cameron
Dilettante Life Member, unable to coerce him out of Pattaya to score this year. Sneaking into town mid week to escape official duties.
-
Mark "Walter" Staude
Dilettante Life Member, unable to coerce him out of Pattaya to play this year. Sneaking into town mid week to escape playing duties.
-
Michael "Fence Sitter" Burns
Dilettantes - Tourist #122
Our favourite finee and Harv's nemesis with the raised digit!
